What is the Foundation?

The parent-led Garrison Mill Educational Foundation was established in 2007 as a nonprofit to fundraise and support our school beyond the resources provided by Cobb County.

Today, the volunteer led Foundation Board of Directors support real-world moments for students focused on science, technology, engineering, arts and math – STEAM! The Foundation collaborates with school administrators and the Garrison Mill PTA to develop the best Greyhound experience possible.

Funded by individual donations and local business sponsorships, the Foundation supports Garrison Mill STEAM initiatives like:

  • Art Night
  • Experiment kits and robots used in the STEM Lab
  • FEAST Clubs
  • Garrison Mill Learning Garden and Trail
  • Musical instruments and Chorus support for the music director
  • Science Fair
  • Science Olympiad
  • STEAM Days and STEAM Night
  • STEAM-focused field trips
  • Publix Math Night
  • Teacher training
  • Visiting artists directed by the art teacher
