Because the popularity and size of the Greyhound Chorus has grown over the years, the Garrison Mill Education Foundation is partnering with Chorus to facilitate registration.

The parent-led, nonprofit Foundation supports STEAM activities, including art forms like music and singing. The Garrison Mill choral director, in collaboration with school administrators, retains operational decisions over Chorus.

A NEW MODEL OF SUCCESS

While our Chorus growth has been exciting - reaching 108 singers in 2025-26 - it has also created challenges related to scheduling, supervision, transportation, staffing and balancing the many after-school opportunities available to students.

Under our new registration and fee schedule, Chorus aims to:

  • Create a more sustainable and student-friendly structure
  • Support Chorus with paid professional assistants
  • Cover transportation and logistics
  • Create a model of leadership where fifth-graders serve as models for younger singers
  • Preserve Garrison Mill's identity, traditions and performance excellence

fee structure

For Garrison Mill fifth-graders registering for the fall 2026 semester, the Chorus fees are as follows.

  • $60: Standard registration - no shirt purchased/singer already has a shirt.
  • $80: Standard registration - new shirt purchase included in fee.
  • (optional) $100 Patron registration - no shirt. This is an additional donation to the Garrison Mill Chorus program.
  • (optional) $120 Patron registration - new shirt purchased included and the additional fee is a donation to the Garrison Mill Chorus program.
  • Need-based financial grant - Registration and shirt included. Fee waived after review by Choral Director.

What to expect

Chorus will practice on Thursday afternoons after school. Exact times may vary, but Chorus expects to rehearse for 12 weeks. Schedule changes will be emailed to parents as needed.

Thursday rehearsal dismissal time is 3:30 pm. Students then can go to a FEAST club, ASP or be picked up by a parent.

Singers are expected to attend rehearsals. More than two unexcused rehearsal absences may disqualify a singer from performing with the group.

braves performance

It has become a summer tradition for the Garrison Mill Chorus to perform the National Anthem at Truist Park during an Atlanta Braves game.
